Le Learning Center de l'Université Paris-Saclay propose aux doctorants et aux jeunes publiants de l'Université Paris-Saclay un atelier d'écriture scientifique en physique avec EDP Sciences.

DAY 1 – TUESDAY 12 FEBRUARY 2019
Facilitators: Anne Ruimy and Claus Roll, senior publishers, EDP Sciences.
9:00-12:00: Morning session: introduction to scholarly publishing (presentations)
12:00-13:00: Lunch break. Food will be provided.
13:00-16:00: Afternoon session: Structured abstracts (practical workshop)
In this session, participants will use examples of unstructured abstracts from published articles to write structured abstracts, titles and keywords for the articles.
16:00-17:00: Visit of a research laboratory
DAY 2 – WEDNESDAY 13 FEBRUARY 2019
Facilitators: Anne Ruimy (senior publisher, EDP Sciences), Catherine Brassac (system administrator, EDP Sciences), Arnaud Raoux (associate editor, Emergent Scientist)
9:30-12:00: Morning session: writing scientific articles (practical workshop)
In this session, participants will work on writing some of their own initial results with a longer-term view to publishing them.
12:00-13:00: lunch break. Food will be provided.
13:00-16:00: Afternoon session: reviewing and editing scientific articles (practical workshop)
In this session, each participant will peer-review one of their co-participants’ unpublished papers with a view to making everyone’s paper more publishable through peer-review. The peer-review process will take place in an EDPS test editorial system, making the participants more familiar with editorial systems from an author and reviewer point of view.
