Improvement of the transport of biologically active drugs

Research topics

The aim of the group is to propose and to develop original administration systems allowing biologically active compounds to cross biological barriers existing between the administration and the active sites. The major research projects are:

  • Conception of new polymers designed for the preparation of (bio)degradable nanoparticular systems for drug targeting.
  • Conception of bioadhesive formulations (oral routes, …).
  • Valorization of biologically active molecules by their formulation in original systems associating polymers and cyclodextrins.
  • Studies of the crossing of biological barriers by formulated biologically active molecules.

Expertise

  • Pharmaceutical, veterinary, cosmetics and agrochemical formulations.
  • Polymers of pharmaceutical interest.
  • Chemical modifications of polymers (coupling of ligands, lectins, biologically active molecules...).
  • Polymerization of alkylcyanoacrylates.
  • Inclusion of biologically active compounds in cyclodextrins.
  • Synthesis and characterization of colloidal systems (nanoparticles, micelles...).
  • Biopharmaceutical evaluation of new dosage forms for the administration of biologically active compounds (absorption models, bioadhesion and pharmacokinetics).
